Peer support for small groups in Birmingham (360G-tnlcomfund-0045455265)

This funding will support Birmingham Community Matters (BCM) to facilitate peer support and the provision of information and resources. Following on from the pandemic they will deliver a hybrid service providing online support and face-to-face events for micro and small voluntary and community groups in Birmingham where there is a known lack of appropriate support that meets their needs. Face-to-face events will be held in local community settings across the city. BCM provides micro and small voluntary and community groups with peer to peer face-to-face support enabling them to be more effective and sustainable in their communities. To do this surgeries are held in informal settings across Birmingham where anyone with an idea to improve their community are welcome to visit. Over the past few years they have supported more than 300 people to start up choose a structure support with policies and procedures planning projects applying for funding monitoring projects managing money recruiting and managing volunteers. They are on the radar of more than 800 individuals community groups and funders through their monthly newsletter.
