Engage with Age in Belfast is using a £385172 grant to provide opportunities for older people in east and south Belfast to build connections reduce loneliness and improve their wellbeing. Over three years the project will include establishing local groups of older people who have shared interests that can meet regularly and be sustainable for the future. The project will also recruit and train a group of older people to be Peer Befrienders across Belfast who will regularly call their dedicated peer-friend and be supported to meet in person.
