Rural Befriending Support (360G-tnlcomfund-0045526696)

The funding will be used to recruit and train 20 support volunteers to deliver Befriending Services across most rural areas of the country. They will support older people over the age of 60 including those living with dementia disabilities and anxiety. The project will tackle feelings of loneliness and isolation with face-to-face support and respite for those caring for older people living with dementia enabling the group to develop a sustainable programme of support across the country and develop funding strategies to sustain the project after the initial 12 months.
