Now Foster's mission is to mainstream foster care so more amazing people will empower and inspire young people in care. Bringing together a team of innovating social workers, designers and entrepreneurs, they aim to change how fostering is done. Now two years into their journey, Now Foster started by running a weekenders programme in London, encouraging proffessionals to make a difference in a child's life by commiting one weekend a month to spend time with them. By commiting to being matched with a child in care over the long-term, weekenders develop a longer lasting relationship, in which they can provide guidance, inspiration and stability on a regular basis. From a strong starting point in motivating more professionals to consider fostering/ supporting a child, their focus has moved to re-writing the book on how prospective foster parents move through the system, changing a confusing and long-winded journey into one that empowers and prepares the parents, while significantly improving the admin (and reducing cost) for a Local Authority. Now Foster is currently building a platform for foster parent recruitment/ onboarding, running pilots across different areas of London.
