Recipient Org: Description Borders Asperger and Autism Group Support (BAAGS) was established in 2004 by parents of individuals on the autistic spectrum who identified a need for peer support and respite for families affected by the condition. Facilitated by experienced volunteers, they run a monthly discussion group where 10 families have peer-to-peer support and weekly one-to-one support sessions for families experiencing feelings of stress, anxiety or requiring practical support. The organisation operate a Carer Van at Berwick Holiday Centre which can be booked out by families throughout the year for no charge, providing opportunities for respite, social and recreational activities.
