Recipient Org: Description The Melting Pot is Scotland's Centre for Social Innovation. We are an inspiring community of people striving to make the world a better place through our Coworking hub, Good Ideas incubator and Consultancy service. We operate according to the voluntary code of practice for social enterprise in Scotland, a set of criteria, behaviours and values. We are governed by 11 non-executive directors who guide and support us in our work. Our mission is to promote social innovation by providing practical resources, knowledge, support and networks to diverse enterprises aiming to generate social impact across Scotland. Our coworking space at Calton Road provides place-based support for anyone achieving social impact in Edinburgh. We offer flexible membership options to 442 members. Our memberships work around our users, foster collaboration, promote wellbeing and reduce isolation among those working in the third sector. Our Good Ideas accelerator has been operating for 13 years, though dormant since 2022, and has proven success by supporting 370+ change-makers in starting charities, businesses, social enterprises and campaigns. On average, each of our Good Ideas alumni have reached 1300+ beneficiaries. Lastly, our Consultancy arm has supported, through practical advice, workshops and events, the creation of coworking hubs across Scotland. The six key ingredients of our approach across our services, enable us to to support our community to maximise their social impact. We provide: 1. Practical tools 2. Space 3. A diverse network?? 4. Wellbeing support 5. Structured programme(s) 6. Focus on potential? In 2024, we will expand The Melting Pot's reach in Scotland by hosting a new series of events, relaunching our Good Ideas programme and redefining our Consultancy arm.
