Recipient Org: Description | We are a charity based in Clackmannanshire who's aim is to bring sporting opportunities to all. We run a fairly large football club with 29 teams made up males and females aged between 3yrs - 80+yrs. We have a membership of 376 people but we also provide services for over 500 additional service users. In addition to this we run a variety of community outreach programs. These programs all have football at their heart which we use it as a base to tackle issues such as poverty, health and fitness, education, mental health, social interaction, tackling anti social behaviour and many more. The current outreach programs we are running are: The Man Cave - Mental Health Support Group Friday Night 5's - Diversionary Project to get teenagers off the streets and out of trouble Fun Football - Aimed at getting primary aged children into sport Wee Wasps - Pre-school physical Literacy program ASN Football - Disability sport sessions Football Memories - Program for people suffering from dementia and Alzheimers Game on Girls - Program to encourage girls into sport School Of Sport - Delivering football sessions within secondary schools Walking Football - Football for men over 50 Alloa Unathletic - Program for overweight men over 35, for Fitness, Mental Health and social interaction (Pilot) Some of our programs run permanently whilst others are seasonal, so our current programs change on a regular basis. We also have a number of projects in the pipeline which we hope to get up and running soon, one of which is Over 35 Womens football. Which will be aimed at dealing with fitness and mental health issues. |
