Recipient Org: Description | Ayr United Football Academy (AUFA) is a well-established, well run Charity based in Ayr, working throughout South Ayrshire to promote lifelong learning, health and well-being, through football. Our ongoing work involves building a partnership approach with key stakeholders and expanding its community activities which support all ages from 4 to104. The Charity works hard to deliver the successful outcomes offered by its extensive range of programmes and its efforts have been widely recognised recently, when AUFA was chosen as one of only two clubs in Scotland to participate in a UEFA, European football?s governing body, study on Social Return on Investment. The study?s highlight conclusion was that the Charity contributes nearly £10 million to its local community and the research confirmed that for every £1 invested into AUFA programmes it delivers a £17 return. Full details at the link below: UEFA research confirms Ayr United Football Academy contributes millions to local community (scottishfa.co.uk) In 2022, the Scottish Football Association awarded it the ?Best Community Football Club? accolade, followed in 2023 by being named as runner-up to Olympique de Marseille in the 'Best Professional Club' category of UEFA?s prestigious Grassroots Awards scheme. This year, the Trustees were delighted that AUFA was one of the first charities selected by the Scottish Government to play a major part in its Childcare programme, part of a nationwide £3m project. |
