Recipient Org: Charity Number SC045931
Recipient Org: Description Our purpose is to engage the public in flight, astronomy and space exploration. To that end, we provide aerospace related STEM immersive experiences, workshops, challenges and events to inspire people (principally the young). In a typical year we engage an audience of c15,000 in our mobile planetarium which we take to schools, youth organisations, science festivals, and events all across Scotland and the north of England. We run practical projects in schools engaging pupils in hands-on activities such as building a full size aeroplane, and also sponsor competitive challenges involving the assembly and operation of models. We are seeking to acquire a former MOD/NATO Satellite Communications Station which we intend to repurpose as a permanent aerospace discovery centre venue.
