Recipient Org: Description Common Wheel is a mental health charity based in Glasgow. We provide meaningful activity for people managing and/or recovering from mental illness. All of our participants are referred by mental health professionals eg psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists. This means we are working with those whose family, community, work and social life have been most impacted by poor mental health. Because everyone has different talents and interests, we offer four main activities: music, arts, climbing and bike building. Our activities happen in hospital wards, in the community, at our base at Gartnavel Royal Hospital and in our two purpose-built bike workshops. As well as weekly sessions, we offer supported volunteer opportunities across the organisation. Our aims are to increase skills, improve mental wellbeing, reduce isolation and challenge stigma. We are a values-based organisation who take a person-centred approach. Our values are: care, equality, positivity and partnership. With over 23 years of experience, we have a strong track record of achieving our aims and making a real difference to adults experiencing mental illness. This application will concentrate on our Bike project
