| Recipient Org: Description | The Dochas Carers Centre supports Unpaid Carers. We provide information and support to all Unpaid Carers living in Mid Argyll, Kintyre, Gigha, Islay and Jura. The support services we provide are aligned directly with the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and we work in conjunction with the Argyll & Bute Health and Care Social Partnership. All the support services we provide to Unpaid Carers are free at the point of delivery. These support services include professional counselling, benefits checks, befriending, short term respite, peer support, training, information sessions and a listening ear whenever Unpaid Carers need it. The support services we offer are all person centred in which Unpaid Carers receive an Adult Care Support Plan that is monitored closely and regularly and everything that is discussed subsequently is recorded on a secure database from which we evaluate and adjust the plan as may be required. We should mention that we provide Counselling and Be-friending services to other people in the community, also, who need not be registered Unpaid Carers; they could be elderly or recently bereaved who just need contact of some form. Dochas records every meeting with these people within the secure database from which we also monitor, evaluate and adjust the help provided. |
