Recipient Org: Description Purpose of Organisation: Established in 2012, Dunfermline Foodbank aims to alleviate hunger and food insecurity in South West Fife by providing emergency food support to individuals and families in crisis. In 2023-2024, we served 8,814 people, including 4,070 adults and 2,320 children, through our five centres located in Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Benarty, Cowdenbeath, and Dunfermline. Operating across 125 square miles, our work is supported by over 200 volunteers and 120 local referrers who use our online referral system. Supporting Women, Children, and Young People: We place a strong focus on women, children, and young people. Our services support vulnerable families, including lone mothers and those impacted by domestic abuse or isolation. We also provide assistance for children and young people facing neglect, abuse, or challenges related to substance misuse. Working with local partners, we offer access to outreach services, and financial advice to help families and young people regain stability. Collaborative Efforts to Combat Poverty and Deprivation: Through partnerships with organisations like the Trussell, Stagecoach, and Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF), we help our clients access critical services. In the past year, we distributed over 60,000 kg of food with the support of more than 150 referral partners and contributions from local businesses, supermarkets, and community groups.
