Recipient Org: Description | Now in our 4th decade, Fablevision has been working in communities (geographical and communities of interest) to bring transformation of the narrative we tell each other through creative community cultural development. Fablevision works with socially engaged artists creating innovative arts projects with participatory practices at the core. The work has spanned more than three decades ? pioneering, paving the way and spreading learning through partnership working. The approach that Fablevision takes to learning is in line with curriculum for excellence guidelines, i.e. it starts from where the individual is ? draws out their existing skills, talents and abilities (encouraging them to distinguish what they are) and encourages to learn new ones in a creative setting on live projects: www.fablevision.org.uk Realising that eery Fablevision project required film and multi media services (and that the charity ethos meant that those delivering the services were always long term unemployed/people with long term conditions, set up a 'trading arm' called Fablevision Studios which employs young people under 25 with longterm conditions, who are leaving care or who are longterm unemployed. |
