| Recipient Org: Description | The Denis Law Legacy Trust is a small charity based in Aberdeen City. Aside from providing one of Scotland's most famous footballers with a fitting legacy, our most poignant goal is to support and empower young people to be confident capable, independent and responsible citizens. We've been working in, and engaging with children and young people living in the most impoverished areas of Aberdeen since 2006 and currently operate three programmes: - Streetsport- community based, free to access sport & creativity sessions. - Club 10- supporting families affected by imprisonment. - Denis Law's Academy- personal, professional and well-being development for those aged 14 to 20 years old. Additionally, the charity has delivered a number of campaigns over the years that have addressed local, national and global issues. We have spearheaded the building of three free to access, state of the art playing areas (Cruyff Courts) in the City Centre, Torry and most recently Tillydrone and run a yearly Community Festival. |
