Recipient Org: Description Sandwick Social and Economic Development is a community anchor organisation based in Sandwick, Shetland providing a range of community support and development. The organisation manages the Sandsayre Pier and Hoswick Visitor Centre. The management of Sandsayre Pier involved maintaining the pier as protected wildlife area as well as an access point to the island of Mousa which is an RSPB reserve. The Hoswick Visitors centre provides both a visitors information centre and café for visitors to the area, with a principle aim of providing work experience and paid employment opportunities for young people and those local to the area. The Visitors Centre also provides a meeting place for local groups including a ?Thursday Group? enabling people to maintain and keep connections with one another and their community.
