Recipient Org: Charity Number SC008219
Recipient Org: Description Moniaive Playcare was established to provide wrap around childcare (pre-school, breakfast club & afterschool) for 2-14 yr olds in the village of Moniaive. A vital service for working parents, it offers a safe, stimulating and educational environment for children who might otherwise be socially isolated. It is a not-for-profit social enterprise that has been rated 'Very Good' by the Care Inspectorate, maintains strong links with Moniaive Primary School and the wider community, and has a strong ethos on outdoor education and learning. Located in a single-room building, it has proved extremely difficult to restart after-school and breakfast club after Covid as a result of the increased cleaning necessary between groups and the need for the additional space. As such, we are nearing completion on new premises, which will provide an important space and opportunity to re-establish afterschool club. Moniaive Playcare provides many benefits to the wider community including: Cultivating well-being among young children through?. - Providing wrap-around childcare service, which is vital for working families in the community. - Ensuring strong transitions with Moniaive Primary School and feeder of P1s who would otherwise have to attend a nursery out-with Moniaive. Promoting business in the local community through? - Providing employment for 6-7 local people when operating fully ? 1 full-time and 5-6 part-time - Encouraging and retaining working families to settle in the village. - Supporting local businesses and suppliers for bought-in resources. Promoting community cohesion and charity through? - Enhancing community values and cohesion by working with and supporting other community groups. - Works in partnership with other third sector organisations and community groups to share best practice and resources. - Representing Moniaive and wider community well ? Moniaive Playcare are currently rated 5 ?Very Good? with the Care Inspectorate and also won the ?Nithsdale Community Achievement Award for Education and Learning? in June 2015
