| Recipient Org: Description | Maggie's is a network of cancer support centres, all based in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals. We have eight centres in Scotland and this application is for Maggie's Lanarkshire, based in the grounds of Monklands Hospital in Airdrie. We provide practical and emotional support to people with cancer and their carers. At Maggie?s, our centres offer free support for as long as people need us, providing: ? in-depth individual and family emotional support from qualified clinical psychologists, often available same-day or next-day with no long waiting lists ? expert information and advice from Cancer Support Specialists, all of whom have a clinical oncology background ? finance and welfare advice from specialist benefits advisers ? people with cancer are approximately £891 worse off per month after a cancer diagnosis and benefits advisers help people to maximise household income at this difficult time. ? a programme of workshops, peer support and wellbeing sessions. |
