Recipient Org: Description | The 28th Ayrshire (Troon) Scout Group exists to support our community?s young people in their personal development, and empower them to make a positive contribution to society. We deliver this through a programme of packed weekly meetings throughout the year, supplemented with events and residential camps at least once a month. As part of our programme, we offer a wide range of sporting activities to deliver on the Scouts ethos of ?learning through adventure?. These include cycling, watersports, climbing, hiking and martial arts. These are all tailored and designed to promote the physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being of each young person, and help them achieve their full potential. Moreover, our volunteers maintain our two buildings, and a raft of outdoor kit and equipment, for the benefit of our community and other organisations within it. This not only gives the 28th a permanent home, but allows us to support art classes, Girl Guiding, Brownies, Rainbows, Tai Chi, Fitness Classes, after school clubs, karate, Spanish classes, birthday parties, community mental health teams and much more in our local area. All section nights for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, nights and camps away are only possible due to the incredible volunteer leader team, supported by the volunteer Executive Committee. |
