Recipient Org: Charity Number SC042533
Recipient Org: Description Our overall aim is to encourage participation in sport and recreation for all ages for people living in the Ettrick Forest area (participation is welcome from people living in both valleys) as well as visitors. We have a tennis court, children's play area, sports field and a Clubhouse. We have 2 marquees which mean that we can offer activities in inclement weather. Kirkhope School regularly uses the playing field for sports lessons and at lunchtimes and both Kirkhope and Yarrow schools use it for collaboration and sports days. The field is also used for cricket matches, football and other events (such as the annual MacMillan Fundraising Cycle Ride). Ettrick Forest Sports and Recreation Club organises 'Brigend Week' each year in early August with a range of activities for children attending with a parent and adults. This 'village festival' week is very well supported and attracts families and friends as well as visitors so contributes to the local economy.
