| Recipient Org: Description | The Feel Good Women's Group is a non-profitable community based constituted group who provide health focused activities for adult women consisting mostly from BAME backgrounds in Govanhill, Glasgow - the most ethnically diverse area in Scotland (and one of the most deprived). The primary objective of the group is to help meet the health and wellbeing needs of women in our community, and we do it through providing different activities aimed at improving both physical and mental health. We run a variety of different projects including Aerobics, Yoga, Pilates, a lunch club, massage sessions, hosting guest speakers for various topics and day trips. The lunch club and exercise classes are hosted locally in community centres that are easily accessible to our members and staff. Our exercise classes are for all our members, the lunch club is intended for isolated and/or elderly women but is open to everyone. We provide an environment where women can exercise comfortably alongside being able to voice concerns and improve their mental health through support and discussion. Throughout these sessions our members will take the time to discuss their lives including family and young children, employment and their own health and wellbeing. |
