Lothians GME Development Project (360G-BNG-MPG-2027-02577)

Midlothian Council is seeking to join and contribute to the next phase of a regional Gaelic Medium Education (GME) Development Project, in partnership with East Lothian Council. This project will combine initial scoping and engagement activity with integration into a shared regional delivery model, supporting the development of new GME provision across both authorities. The project will move from early-stage planning into coordinated regional development, including establishing local demand, engaging stakeholders, contributing to shared planning processes, and preparing for participation in a proposed August 2028 launch. This approach will support the development of sustainable 3–18 learner pathways for GME, positioning the South-East as a leading example of collaborative GME development at a national level.
