Recipient Org: Description Arthritis Care (AC) has some 60 full time equivalent employees and is based in London. However, the Reigate and District Support Group (RDSG) is run solely by volunteers. RDSG aims to give its 60 members advice and company, to help them manage the pain associated with arthritis. The group's main aims are to help people with arthritis to improve health and wellbeing, reduce physical and emotional isolation, to help sufferers live an independent life, to improve local services, and make sure the voices of sufferers are heard. RDSG meets once a month at the Woodhatch centre, arranges speakers, usually on health matters, and encourages members to discuss their problems. RDSG also lays on 4 outings a year to places on interest with suitable safe access. The group is a member of Arthritis Care and abides by AC's Articles of Association. AC provides RDSG with operating guidelines and instructions on financial procedures. RDSG does not receive financial assistance from Arthritis Care. The Group was established in 1998 and has a Management Committee of 6 people.
