Recipient Org: Description | The Beat Project is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. It is based in Sittingbourne but has also been working in Epsom and Ewell for the last 5 years. The Beat Project (TBP) provides personal development and creative arts services to children and young people of all ability and backgrounds, but especially those who may be disadvantaged, vulnerable, at risk or in need. The Beat Project encourages creativity, offers workshops, learning, development of skills and the building of confidence and self-esteem, whilst encouraging a future society where young people can reach their potential, be happy and respect all people and the planet. Since its incorporation in 2002 the Beat Project, has supported over 14,000 young people to improve their lives, gain qualifications, learn new skills, improve access to training and support opportunities, and reduce the young people's risk of committing anti-social behaviour. The Beat has 1 full-time member of staff, 15 part-time workers, a management committee of 3, and 8 volunteers. |
