Recipient Org: Description Puddleducks is a local playgroup based at West Horsley Village Hall. The group caters for children aged 0-5, and their parents / carers. The playgroup runs weekly during term time from 9.30-11am, and provides stimulating and safe play facilities as well as Storytime, singing, craft activities and refreshments. The group offers social interaction for preschool children. This helps with speech and social development, as well as with developing understanding, adaptation and coping in different situations, and building confidence. It also offers mental and physical stimulation for babies and toddlers as there is a wider choice of play equipment and materials than these children have at home. This helps to prepare them for pre-school. The playgroup also offers opportunities for parents to get to know other mums, dads and carers in the local community, to support and learn from each other, make friends, and build a local community spirit. The group is run on a voluntary basis with no paid staff. It is run by a volunteer committee of three, with two further supporting volunteers. The playgroup has 35 children on its register and on average has 14-15 children attend per week. Often the children's parents or carers come along to be with their child whilst the child is playing.
