Recipient Org: Description Voluntary Action Mid Surrey provides infrastructure services of primarily support and advice to the voluntary, community and faith sector of Epsom, Ewell and Mole Valley. VAMS 'Support Voluntary,Community and Faith Sector in the local communities, with integrated volunteer centres. - To provide services and support to the VCFS and to provide the use of equipment and practical services, information on, and signposting to, appropriate help on organisational issues, information on, and signposting to, appropriate funding streams. - To provide a liaison service promoting cross sector relationships, with support and encouragement to all in the VCFS. -To provide an independent voice for the VCFS in Surrey, representing the sector to other agencies, statutory and public to ensure that their voice is heard and that a comprehensive response is given. - To contribute to strategic partnerships. Encouraging the local VCFS to have a closer relationship with statutory, public and private partners, ensuring that accurate and comprehensive information is relayed to the rest of the VCFS in Surrey. -To provide an effective and accessible Volunteer recruitment and placement service, ensuring Best Practice in the management and support of Volunteers VAMS support local individuals and groups with a strong focus on community development, recently developing key projects such as Foodbanks in Epsom and Ewell and a further distribution Centre in Leatherhead. VAMS deliver and manage key community development through the Links Partnership which focuses on the Goodwyns/Rough Rew SOA - the highest area of deprivation in Mole Valley and the most in need of education, training and skills in Surrey. We lead and manage Volunteer Centres in Dorking, Epsom and Leatherhead. Recently we have opened a new Centre for the VCFS based in Dorking called The Point. Through this project we are bringing local charities together under one roof, enabling greater partnership working, networking and cross referrals. VAMS is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. VAMS employs 4 part time staff and is supported by a management committee of 8 and 9 further volunteers.
