Recipient Org: Description The Countryside Restoration Trust (CRT) is the uk's leading charity promoting wildlife-friendly farming and campaigning for a living, working countryside. The trust believes that wildlife is integral to good farming. That philosophy is put into practice on over 1500 acres of working farms, small holdings and woodland across the country. The trust is a registered charity and CLG established in 1993 operating in a number of counties predominately in the south and east of the England . Pierrepont Farm is a 200 acre heathland farm near Frensham in rural Surrey. At its heart, is a working dairy farm and a collection of historic Grade II listed farm buildings. A herd of Jersey Cows graze heathland but take themselves into the state-of-the-art dairy building, where they are milked using an automatic robotic dairy. Elsewhere on the farm there are wooded areas and a wet meadow next to River Wey, which has been designated an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) because of its important flora. Pierrepont Farm welcomes visits from school groups, youth groups or other clubs. Facilities include a purpose built classroom within the dairy capable of accommodating 35 children seated at tables, a pond dipping platform, bird hide, log circle and woodland classroom. Nov 2019
