Recipient Org: Description Surrey SATRO (working name SATRO) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, based in Guildford. The charity develops and runs programmes within schools which enhance young people's understanding of business, science and technology. The organisation employs staff with backgrounds in business and education, engineering, science, and technology; there are also active volunteers from a range of industries and sectors. The organisation is supported by over 360 companies and Higher Education institutions. SATRO works with state secondary schools, Special Educational Needs Schools, further education and sixth form colleges, primary schools, and short stay centres, as well as ex-offender and youth groups. Projects include primary science lessons; team building challenges; company-sponsored challenges; mentoring programme for Year 10/11 students; and Surrey Apprentices Awards. SATRO has worked with young people in Surrey for over 30 years, providing real-life experience of the working world.
