Purpose of Organisation We work to house and then support local people who are either homeless or vulnerably housed. Specifically we seek out and house rough sleepers and the "hidden" homeless who are sofa-surfing or sleeping in cars or sheds. We match clients to suitable quality private rented accommodation, support them to move and then provide significant on-going support (practical and emotional) to ensure that they can stay housed and move on in life. As part of this work we also manage around 100 local bedspaces, acting as landlord, to ensure that we have suitable properties available for our clients. On average we house around 150 people each year, but are actively supporting around 250 housed clients each year as we do not have a time limit on the support we offer. NEW 23.09.22 To help with our most vulnerable clients we have been awarded our first ever health funding via Surrey County Council as part of the Bridge the Gap programme. This project will see us employ two specific members of staff to work on a Surrey-wide project working intensively with the most vulnerable to tackle multiple and linked issues around health, well being and housing. Being able to provide this level of deep support to those who are the most in need will be hugely helpful to us, as some clients require a very significant time investment from our team, and this funding will make that possible, and enable these clients who face many obstacles to start moving forwards.
