| Recipient Org: Description | 40Degreez is a charity based in Farnham, dedicated to supporting young people aged 10-18, particularly those facing challenges such as mental health issues, social isolation, and low self-esteem. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive space where young people can build confidence, resilience, and life skills to navigate adolescence and transition successfully into adulthood. We do this by helping young people develop coping strategies to manage anxiety, depression, and stress, empowering young people through tailored activities to develop a positive self-image, offering a sense of belonging and reducing isolation through group activities and equipping young people with essential skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. We deliver a range of services, Hang Out Group: Supporting Year 6 students transitioning to secondary school, focusing on confidence and emotional resilience. Girls’ Self-Defence: Boosting self-esteem and safety awareness for young women. Health Hub: An open-access youth club offering activities like pool and arts, with workshops on healthy relationships and mental health. Saturday Boardgames and Gardening Club: Promoting teamwork, creativity, and practical skills through engaging activities. Outreach Services: Engaging young people in the community, particularly those at risk of isolation or risky behaviours. Our young people face many barriers to accessing opportunities, building confidence, and achieving their full potential, often due to challenges such as mental health issues, social isolation, disability and/or economic hardship. NEW as of 2026/27 MR1 The aim of 40Degreez is to support young people aged 10–18 to thrive through early intervention and preventative asset based youth work, providing safe, inclusive spaces, trusted relationships, and positive activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, and resilience. We work with all young people, with a strong commitment to inclusion, particularly for those who are neurodivergent or have additional needs. Our provision includes a Wednesday Youth Club with increased staffing to support young people who benefit from a quieter, more supported environment; girls’ self-defence sessions; gardening club; a Saturday drop-in; café-based social sessions; board games; and creative programmes such as Dungeons & Dragons, which build social skills and peer connection. We also deliver detached and outreach youth work, engaging young people earlier and in community settings before issues escalate. In 2026, we are supporting young people to complete elements of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, including the Skills and Physical sections, through inclusive activities such as board games, self-defence, and gardening, helping young people to develop positive routines and accredited outcomes. |
