Recipient Org: Description | We are Keep Britain Tidy. That means more than just picking up litter. It means creating clean beaches, parks and streets. It means inspiring positive environmental behaviours and reducing waste. It means working with the public, businesses, school children, charities and public bodies to improve how we care for the environment on our doorstep. Small changes can make a big difference. Individual action, great teamwork, and inspiring and bringing communities together will deliver an environment we can all be proud of and prosper in. Keep Britain Tidy has three clear aims: - To eradicate litter and reduce waste. - To improve the quality of public space. - To help people live more sustainably. We work in the following ways: - Raising awareness through campaigns. - Mobilising and engaging volunteers and communities. - Supporting local authorities and land managers to use evidence-based practice. - Raising quality through accreditations. - Educating the next generation. - Campaigning for system change. - Better understanding our issues and how to solve them through research and innovation. We work and campaign for change across the whole spectrum of challenging issues which impact our agenda. This includes specific and current work on plastics, wet wipes, smoking-related litter, disposable barbecues, and excess consumption. |
