Recipient Org: Description | Our aim is to reduce loneliness and isolation in the elderly. We provide a warm safe environment all on one level with easy access, in which we hold coffee and games mornings and serve a hot freshly prepare meal. We encourage conversation and interaction while mindful of our members memory and mobility restrictions. Loneliness and the feeling of being forgotten about effect People of all ages, but the older members of our community also face difficulty with their mobility. Being alone often comes with poor a diet. The feeling of not Wanting to cook for one , or not physically being able to cook can lead to poor nutrition and poor health. We can offer conversation, help and advise, a chance to play Games with others followed by a great freshly prepared meal. Some of our members have been in hospital for a while and we offer the chance to build up confidence , re-enter and engage in the community. |
