Recipient Org: Description | Since the acquisition of the hall in 1948, Berden Village Hall Management Committee has maintained, extended and managed Berden Village Hall for the benefit of the residents of Berden. The hall is a de-consecrated Methodist chapel built in the early 1900s. The hall can be used by any residents of Berden and the surrounding area, regardless of race, religion, ability or sexual orientation. As we have no pub or school, the hall is extensively used by the community, for example: for our social club, film club, Yoga, Brownies, a home schooling group, lunch club group, and private parties, business meetings, parish council meetings, choir and drama group rehearsals, wedding receptions and even recently a humanist funeral. It is also our Emergency Centre. |
