Recipient Org: Description Community radio station that offers social gain to the area of Basildon/east thurrock as a community radio who is run by volunteers we broadcast to Basildon/east Thurrock our aims to provide a full time community radio service as well as provide educational advancement for vunerable people of all ages. we do this by offering various clubs such as the radio club. older people and offer accredited training . we are a social enterprise that has had a good track record in providing transferable skills to local people. some of our activities feature schools. college.s excluded children, neets and pre neets. In addition, we are looking to establish a network of ‘citizen journalists’, people living in various different areas who can be deployed to cover events local to them. We hope to be able to train them not only in radio, but to work towards helping them become skilled at sound and vision recording in order to help realise our ambition to augment our website with video as well as sound, text and graphics. There are creative openings for short story writers, dramatists and actors, musicians, voice-over artists and presenters of special interest material in areas such as fishing, gardening, astronomy, nature and conservation. To support all this we need editors and researchers as well as people prepared to pitch in and help with whatever is needed – sometimes supporting our Roadshow team, sometimes going out on Outside Broadcasts, sometimes in one of our studios or helping with the website we have jobs for everyone and work with job centre plus. princes trust and most charity org that come in to get there message across.
