Recipient Org: Description | FACT is a unique place for adventure, relaxation and exploring the environment. Based on a lightship that was converted into our activity centre 25 years ago, on the Essex coast, it's an ideal activity venue for youth clubs, schools, churches, special needs groups and those wishing to gain sailing qualifications. Guests are served by the centre staff and expert volunteers who form the lively Christian community which is FACT. The activities offered include sailing, kayaking, rowing, power boating, dredging, climbing, archery, field studies, team building and high ropes. We aim to ensure that all whom we serve of whatever faith or none receive an equal welcome and care. To contribute effectively to the public benefit and common good by encouraging the development of social skills, team work, respect for the natural environment and better appreciation of outdoor activities. As well as the education of the public in the development of their physical, mental and spiritual capacities by the provision of recreational faculties, particularly sailing, so they may grow to full maturity as individual members of society. |
