Recipient Org: Description The Craig Tyler Trust has been set up organised and facilitated by volunteers from the local community of the Basildon borough, who are all equipped to promote positive mental health and physical wellbeing, these volunteers have all experienced mental distress in their personal lives either themselves or through family members and friends. Currently the Craig Tyler Trust provides a safe platform for people of all ages from the Basildon Community and surrounding areas who are, have been or could be affected by mental distress. Currently we are providing practical life tools, we provide companionship, support, increase wellbeing and the prevention of further onset of mental health difficulties, we do this by providing 121 support for a person of any age, telephone support, text support, online support and social media support. We aim to change the understanding of mental health problems in the community and improve short and long term future of the communities mental wellbeing. The Craig Tyler Trust knows having a mental health problem may have a massive personal cost. It can impact on a person's relationships, employment, physical health, emotional health and lots more. This why we want to address mental health problems from occurring in the first place, as well as detecting problems early and helping people by giving coping mechanisms advice and guidance which can be life changing in a positive way. Since starting The Craig Tyler Trust we have been working to raise the profile of ways to promote wellbeing, building resilience and preventing mental health problems. We want to strive forward to create a positive change. We recognise there are a number of things that should be done to improve the communities mental health in the Basildon borough. Our aim is to work in partnership with organisations, understand the local community and recognised who is at risk / high risk, address both physical and mental health, provide interventions and monitor and evaluate in order to ensure we are providing what is needed and what is help full to the people who access The Craig Tyler Trust.
