Recipient Org: Description The aims of BCT are: To provide accessible transport for the residents of Brentwood area who are unable to access public transport due to age illness or geographical isolation, our services helps towards working for an inclusive society and reducing social isolation. We provide a range of transport services 1. A social car/accessible vehicle service - this service is run by a volunteer and paid workforce provides transport to access shopping, health services, visits to family and friends for members who are unable to access public transport due to isolation or disability. 2. Group transport service - this service provides accessible vehicle transport to local non for profit organisations enabling vulnerable residents access to day club and luncheon clubs etc. helping to reduce social isolation. These groups are not just aimed at the elderly population but also youth giving them access to sport, social activities and education. Part of this group transport provides essential school transport for rural isolated youth helping to reduce the carbon footprint and congestion at school gate. 3. Community Hospital Shuttle Bus Service - 808 service this service provides a timetabled scheduled bus service for patients, staff and visitors to and from the Brentwood Community Hospital. Currently we have two buses running this service under a registered section 22 permit enabling the passengers to utilise their valid concessionary bus passes as payment for the journey and is open to the public. The service was set up due to No mainstream public transport going directly into the community hospital grounds.
