Primary issue Mental health
Recipient Org: Charity Number 1104951
Recipient Org: Description We are a mental health charity that provide care, treatment and support to people living with complex mental health needs. As a small divisional site in Essex, our occupational therapy team actively use activity, particularly art and music as treatment mediums for people to express and share their lived experience. Over the years, we have witnessed how these various art mediums became powerful tools in people's recovery journey and enabled them to reconnect and transition back into their local community and become part of wider society. And that is the heart of our vision- to build and sustain connection with those often marginalised in medium that transcend language. Because our treatment is within a low secure setting, we would like to invite our local community to our home and share a piece of each individual through the work they produce. Activities: Music groups; drum circles and percussion instruments Song writing Poetry Art: drawing, clay and model making Woodwork- pyrography
