It is a voluntary organisation registered as a charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. Services offered today include a telephone and email Helpline, signposting, specialist mental health counselling (including children and those experiencing severe mental health conditions like schizophrenia), support groups, supported housing, walking & talking groups, an allotment and forensic advocacy. The charity has a shop, located in Basildon, which raises money to help fund these services. Basildon Mind has significant expertise counselling severe mental health conditions and children. Our Helpline supports 1000+ callers / year, counsels approximately 600 clients per year, represents 35 patients at Brockfield House in Wickford and supports 14 residents in our group homes. Our walking groups and allotment support another 15-20 people per week. Basildon Mind also works in partnership with other 'Local' Mind charities to provide services including the South Essex Crisis Sanctuary, Essex Wellbeing Service and Positive Pathways for Adults, a Crisis Sanctuary Plus House and Mental Health Recovery program. |
