Recipient Org: Description Crimestoppers allows people with information on crime or criminals who do not wish to report to the police, to report anonymously to Crimestoppers. Information is passed to law enforcement agencies. Our mission is to provide a means to detect, reduce and prevent crime through the provision of information from anonymous sources about crimes and criminals to the law enforcement agencies Crimestoppers is governed by the Board of Trustees. It has a Central Office staff, 12 Regional Managers and 41 local volunteer committees. • Local committees are self-sufficient and raise funds to develop/support marketing and associated campaign expenditures and pay rewards. • Apart from some Central funding for national campaigns, local income depends entirely on donors, trusts, other funders such as the public sector and from fund-raising activities. • Local campaign priorities are driven by the police/PFCC priorities. Local committees develop and implement campaigns to encourage the provision of information. • We also support the activities of agencies such as the National Crime Agency, UK Border Service, Trading Standards and HMP, in terms of intelligence gathering.
