Recipient Org: Description To Recruit Volunteers and place volunteers into volunteering and to help and support people in the community that need support and help, through volunteers and staff running activities, clubs and groups to meet the needs in our community. We run community activities for volunteers from the community, to help people from the community that have issues and problems. We do this through our various activities and clubs. We have volunteers running a memory cafe for people with dementia and their carers, a community tea rooms which enables people to drop in for a cuppa, piece of cake and a chat in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, with prices that are good value for money. This also includes a weekly lunch club to provide a hot lunch at a reasonable price, cooked and served by volunteers, a craft group which helps people with anxiety and depression, we have a self harmer, We also have 3 people with autism and an alcoholic and her daughter who come along for support from the volunteer, the chance to do some craft and talk to others in the group improving self esteem. We run computer club, enabling people from the community the ability to learn how to use a computer supported by 2 volunteers. We have a job club run by 2 volunteers, helping those in our community who are unemployed to do CV's, job searching and interview skills and general support to help get people into employment. These groups run at least once a week, on different days during the week. We also run a monthly meet and eat group, which transports people with dementia into the tea rooms, provides a two course meal and drinks, and some form of entertainment, for those with dementia, ran by 5 volunteers , their carers get respite at home.
