| Recipient Org: Description | Our Place Support is an established community organisation providing advice, mentoring, and wellbeing support to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents. Founded 14 years ago, we combine crisis intervention with early help to prevent issues escalating into long-term need. Our whole-person, 360-degree support model enables individuals to address interconnected challenges including poverty, unemployment, poor mental health, social isolation. This consistent, non-judgemental approach has helped us build strong, trusted relationships with both the community and partner agencies. Many of the people we support are disengaged from formal systems, and our advice and navigator services act as trusted access points for individuals who are otherwise hard to reach. Each year we support around 1,800 people through a range of targeted and universal services. Our mentoring offer includes specialised one-to-one support for 6–18s with medium to high mental health needs, alongside group mentoring for primary-aged children focused on wellbeing, self-esteem, and prevention of exploitation. We also provide peer mentoring and Mental Health Champions for 14–25s with low-level emotional or mental health challenges. Our Pathway to Potential programme delivers tailored support for young people aged 14+ who are care-experienced, homeless, or in alternative education. Our advice service supports individuals with benefits, housing, and cost-of-living issues, while our Community Navigator service assists people with multiple needs to engage with council, health, mental health, debt, and emergency grant services. Our Community Hub, also a designated Family Hub in Sutton Coldfield, offers a safe, inclusive space and is regularly used by more than 30 partner organisations. |
