| Recipient Org: Description | Boleskine Community Care (BCC) aims to expand the range of weekend activities offered at our rural community hub to tackle loneliness and improve wellbeing among older adults and vulnerable people. In our remote Highland community, many residents experience extreme isolation, particularly at weekends when other services and social opportunities are limited. This project will provide safe, warm, and welcoming weekend sessions, including social events, gentle exercise classes, crafts, and wellbeing activities. We will also offer access to vital healthcare services such as foot care and hearing clinics, reducing the need for long and difficult journeys to urban centres. Funding will cover activity costs, volunteer expenses, and a small contribution towards utilities, enabling us to run sessions consistently throughout the year. This project will create stronger social connections, improve mental and physical wellbeing, and ensure no one in our community feels alone or unsupported. |
