Recipient Org: Description St Peter's Church Hall has been a cherished asset at the heart of Balsall Common since its opening in 1965. Over the past 60 years, it has played a vital role in community life, serving generations as a venue for community events, regular classes, celebrations, and performances. As the largest hall in the village, it is highly popular due to its ample space, excellent parking, convenient location (opposite a large primary school and secondary school) and stage facilities. The hall is offered at a nominal hire rate, making it highly accessible for community use. As a church, we run many community activities and events, including a weekly stay and play group for pre-school children and their carers and a Warm Welcome Cafe, which has been a lifeline for many in providing an antedote to social isolation, in addition to free community events and activities that have been very popular e.g. Pancakes at St Peter's, Easter Fun Day, Christmas Crafternoon. We are an Eco Church, having received the Silver Award, a Fairtrade Church and we have an ongoing collection for Helping Hands Foodbank.
