This proposal is to support Place2Be?s school work for their London & West region, one of their four UK regions, supporting nine counties (inc Slough, Banbury, Oxfordshire, Dorset, Somerset) and 14 Greater London boroughs (inc. K&C, H&F and Westminster). Across London & West, they partner with 140+ schools (53% primary, 38% secondary, and 9% all-through), and will work with c13,400 children per year plus parents and teachers. Of these, 30% qualify for Free School Meals, significantly above the national average. This year, Place 2 Be have responded to 1,900 safeguarding concerns, with self-harm and suicide ideation most prevalent. They support the whole school community - pupils, staff, and families with a Place2Be counsellor is embedded in schools, working with all stakeholders to promote emotional wellbeing. They provide mixture of universal access and focused one-to-one with pupils referred by schools. Within communities, Place2Be work with partners including NHS Mental Health Support Teams, Single Points of Access and CAMHS. They also work alongside health, youth justice, and social care professionals, building networks to deliver coordinated, responsive support.
