Recipient Org: Description | Youth League UK caters for the unique needs of disadvantaged youth aged 8-25, primarily of African origin, resident in deprived areas in the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham and Havering. Our community-led approach empowers young people to lead the interventions that enable them to reach their full potential. Our work, reaching approximately 7000 annually and based out of our community centre, includes: Education, skills training and enhancing employability. Mental health support Diversionary recreational, sports and physical activities. Providing opportunities for youth leadership and volunteering. Infrastructure support for budding youth-led organisations/clubs. Parent / family support including poverty and hunger reduction activities. |
