Delivering a Homes for Health project in Ely, Cardiff (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-2023_4)

This 21-month project works with social and private tenants, with a particular focus on communities experiencing racial inequity, living in Ely, Cardiff. Accommodation is old and in need of repair, with mould and damp causing physical and mental health concerns. There are long wait times for urgent repairs, a lack of accountability from landlords when repairs were reported, and no avenue for tenants to lodge concerns. The project is supporting a tenant action team to build knowledge, voice and power and influence landlords to improve local housing conditions in ways that can ultimately improve health outcomes for tenants.
