In 2009, the national Age Concern body joined forces with Help the Aged to form the new national charity - Age UK - in 2010, but we remain autonomous and independent. Services currently provided include Information and Advice, Toe Nail Cutting, Befriending, Living Better, Partners in Care and Ageing Well._x000D_ Age UK Somerset run a programme of physical activity sessions and co-ordinate and promote ALL opportunities for Staying Strong and Staying Steady in North Somerset, which is part of a North Somerset wide initiative to increase healthy and active living in North Somerset. The classes are aimed at reducing falls in Older People and we are part of a Countywide Falls Network promoting services that can help prevent Falls which is a leading factor for ill health and disability for older people._x000D_ By encouraging older people to have a healthy lifestyle, the Staying Steady activities aims to improve the quality of their extra years, ensuring that 'adding years to life, also means adding life to years'!
