Recipient Org: Description Travelling Lights mission is to enhance the lives of children and young people through theatre. We have been making outstanding theatre for and with children and young people for over 30 years, engaging children as young as 6 months. Through making high quality professional shows we aim to inspire young people's thinking, engage their emotions and fire their imaginations. We tour our professional productions nationally and internationally and last year we reached audiences of over 14,000 children and their families. Travelling Light also has a thriving participation programme. Based in the heart of Barton Hill in Bristol, we engage with children, young people and their families in our local area. Services include family theatre sessions, weekly youth theatre groups, youth-led performance projects and career development opportunities. We currently engage 60 young people (aged 4-21) per week through these services, with over 50% from our local BS5 postcode. Our schools programme reaches children across Bristol, enabling them to embrace their creativity, take ownership of their work and gain practical experience of making theatre. Last year we delivered over 6,000 experiences for children and young people aged 0-25, providing a safe and welcoming space for them to express themselves through theatre.
