Recipient Org: Description Our vision is a community in which all children and young people thrive and reach their potential. To realise our vision we provide a unique programme of mentoring support for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people (aged 7-21) in B&NES, working with up to 250 children and young people every year. Young people benefit from personal support from our qualified practitioners, weekly one-to-one mentoring sessions with an adult volunteer mentor and door-to-door transport to a range of free, community-based activities. These are delivered in partnership with local organisations and centres of excellence, connecting young people to inspirational venues, opportunities and role models in our communities, fostering aspirations and building confidence. The mentoring relationship, with its person-centred approach, provides young people with the space and time to reflect on the challenges they face, develop better coping strategies and make positive life choices. "It's been quite life-changing ... It's given me an escape, someone to talk to." (Mentee) 'Graduate mentees' can join our weekly Youth Reps, a participation and advocacy group for aged 15+. This group is the voice of young people in our charity, and is active in planning and delivering feedback, campaigns and activities for their peers in mentoring.
