Recipient Org: Description At Age UK B&NES, we have a vision that all older people have a healthy, happy and satisfying life. Sadly, this is far from the case for thousands of local, older people. We aim to help people stay active, retain their independence and improve their quality of life. We know that loneliness is a huge issue affecting older people in the UK and our services bring people together. As you know, we are a local, independent charity and we are extremely reliant on the generosity of trusts and the local community in order to maintain and improve upon our range of services - which are continually adapting in line with the needs of lonely, isolated people who may be disadvantaged by age or disability. Our services and activities currently include: - 'Active and Enrichment' classes and clubs - Information and Advice service - Day centres and lunch clubs (including minibus transport) - Home from Hospital service - Dementia services - 'Winter warmth' service - Befriending - Toe nail cutting.
